Programme Highlights


  • The Institute of Bio-Engineering develops understanding by imparting knowledge and ideas. The program has been devised to provide a highly academic environment that will create scientific talent capable of applying knowledge and equipped for industry/competitive exams/academics/research.
  • The department has tied up with the various departments for Scientific Research and Student Internship, like Institute of Applied Biological Research and Development, BETiCcenter, Persistent Systems, Ncord Bio-tech, Sofomos Solutions, Kalam Institute, among others.
  • The BETiC lab at MITBIO is equipped with prototyping facilities such as 3D printer, state-of-the-art medical modelling software, electronics and fabrication kits.
  • Ncord Biotech, Pune provides training and placement in the field of regenerative medicine and stem cell research to the students.
  • Sofomos Solutions, Pune is another industry partner engaged in biomedical device development.
  • Whereas, association with Kalam Institute of Health Technology (KHIT) is for cooperation in medical device technology transfer.

Students with Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology as major subjects will be preferred. Students without Maths/Bio will undertake a bridge course of 3 credits in the first semester.
Admissions will be awarded based on merit as determined from the results of MH-CET, NEET, PERA or CET scores of any state.

She/he must have obtained either a minimum of 60% marks or Equivalent Grade in the M.Phil degree or in the Master’s Degree (for all disciplines except Engineering and Technology). In addition, overall 60% at all academic levels will be desirable.

For candidates with MTech/BTech qualification:
Applicants with M. Tech / BTech / M.E./M.S. qualification in relevant disciplines with excellent academic record with minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 60% marks and with 60% aggregate in Xth , XIIth and B.Tech /B.E. will be considered eligible for admission in PhD Programs in Engineering and Technology.
Applicants with M.B.B.S./BDS degree or equivalent in relevant discipline with excellent academic record with minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 55% marks may be considered eligible for admission to PhD Programs in the relevant field.
Foreign/ NRI applicants / Applicants with a Masters‟ degree from a foreign university must apply with an equivalence certificate of AIU along with the Online Application Form
